Protection for our children must come first. No child should go to school feeling bullied, scared, or unsafe. No child should have to sit in a classroom wondering if today is the day they will have to hide, run, or fear for their life. Active shooter drills should not be a normal part of childhood.
No parent should have to wonder if their child is coming home on the bus, being picked up in the car line, or being rushed to a hospital because someone with a gun decided to walk into a school and open fire.
Our schools must be places of learning, hope, and opportunity — not fear, violence, and trauma. Our children deserve better. Our parents deserve peace of mind. And our communities deserve leaders who will fight to protect every child.
